Ben & Jerry's
This Project is to design an online Ice-cream cake ordering system and catering system for customers and an Internal Dashboard Design for Franchises to grow their own business
My Role
Lead UX Designer
My Work
For Franchises
I re-designed Ben & Jerry’s franchises website which is also a platform where franchises can manage their business, process orders, acquire business knowledge, and check business notifications. As a responsive design, I also created the mobile version.
For Consumers
On Ben & Jerry's consumer website, I redesigned the cake ordering and catering section, as well as the corresponding page in the franchises dashboard to help the ordering process.
Challenge
Transfer PDF experience into a digital experience
The old website contains hundreds of PDF files each with different purposes. To take advantage of the digital experience, I spent a lot of effort on tagging the contents into filterable and sortable webpage components.
Restructure a complex platform with cross-function components
As a big platform with over 600 pages, some components are also systematically related to each other. We can’t separate the website into pieces like other analysis work.

The Solutions
Within a tight schedule, I quickly studied the whole website and went through over 600 pages in two days, analyzed and reorganize the website. I accomplished this with sitemap designs and user flow designs, which even helped the client have a clear view of their website.

Streamlined and simplified the PDF user experience

The Opportunities
I updated the calendar function to enhance communication between franchises and Ben & Jerry's. I also help franchisees with social media marketing by adding an on-click content posting function on Facebook and Twitter.

I designed the intelligence contact solution for multiple audiences. From contacting suppliers to calling store managers, the contact section is heavily used for lots of different purposes by a variety of types of users. I applied the mobile-first design methodology for this responsive design website. I started with a smaller screen, and fewer resources, but more focusing on the essential functions.
